Newton City Commission signed a letter of intent (LOI) with GAF Materials to purchase approximately 230 acres of land in the Kansas Logistics Park.

Press Release

Newton, Kan—This evening the Newton City Commission signed a letter of intent (LOI) with GAF Materials to purchase approximately 230 acres of land in the Kansas Logistics Park.  Harvey County EDC worked closely with the Kansas Department of Commerce and the Greater Wichita Partnership during a nationwide site search. The collaboration resulted in a successful site visit with company representatives earlier this year.  HCEDC is extremely pleased to have received a LOI and move to the next stage of this project.  We look forward to learning more about the total capital investment and jobs created during the due diligence phase over the next several months.  Making it to this stage with GAF keeps Newton as a front runner for this exciting development. Further demonstrating the leadership and foreplaning that has gone into Newton’s industrial property development, and placing us in contention for prominent projects from established companies such as GAF Materials.

Harvey County Economic Development is dedicated to the growth and advancement of Harvey County’s economy.
