Newton, Kan. – Harvey County Economic Development is pleased to announce 21 Albermarle, LLC, headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii, has chosen to expand their Kansas footprint at the Airport Addition of the Kansas Logistics Park. The company purchased 10 acres at 1st Street and Oliver Road in Newton for an initial 40,000 square-foot facility, with building expansion plans up to 150,000 SF. This project represents $2.75 Million in Capital Investment and will create 10 new full-time jobs upon completion, with an estimated 65 by the end of year 5.
The company currently has a kit manufacturing warehouse in Wichita, KS. The familiarity with the Greater Wichita Region led them to explore our MSA for their national distribution complex that will service an upcoming Ben Franklin Express Stores concept among several new businesses they plan to develop in Newton.
Wayne Kamitaki, one of the principals of the Hawaii-based family-owned business, will be developing these new business ventures. “We are honored and very grateful to have this opportunity to build our new businesses in Newton, and I hope we will be a good partner to Newton and the community. Thank you very much to Harvey County Economic Development for their support. We truly look forward to developing and growing our businesses and company in Newton.”
HCEDC worked in collaboration with the City of Newton, Harvey County, and the Kansas Department of Commerce to secure this investment for our region.
